This course will provide an opportunity for Citizenship teachers and coordinators from all key stages and advisory teachers to explore practical and engaging activities for assessing the impact of global citizenship.
 
Learning objective:
To develop skills in assessing the impact of global citizenship work on pupils’ attitudes and values.

Participants will take away a copy of the new resource, “How do we know it’s working?”, a toolkit for measuring attitudinal change in global citizenship from early years to KS5.

"How do we know it's working?" - Assessing global citizenship

"How do we know it’s working?" is a toolkit for measuring attitudinal change in Global Citizenship from early years to KS5 It is produced by the Reading International Solidarity Centre, RISC.
 
The resource contains activities that can be used as a baseline audit to measure pupils' knowledge, attitudes and values. The activities can then be repeated, enabling teachers to see how effective their work had been and to plan and further develop the global dimension
 
This workshop will enable participants to develop tools to measure the impact of global citizenship work on pupils’ attitudes and values.

This one-day professional development workshop is for teachers with experience of school partnerships.
 
The workshop will encourage participants to examine the quality of their school partnership relationship and consider how this can be consolidated and developed further.

A recent Ofsted report 'Schools and Sustainability' found that schools were more successful in developing pupils' understanding of local rather than global issues of sustainability.
