Welcome to One World Network North East Providing professional development and guidance supporting a global dimension
in North East schools
Who are we?
One World Network North East (OWNNE) works with teachers, advisers and other
educators to promote the global dimension in the school curriculum. We offer support
on all aspects of the global dimension through workshops and INSET. We also run
a range of projects for schools to develop specific areas of their curriculum.
What is a Global Dimension?
The global dimension incorporates the key concepts of global citizenship, conflict
resolution, diversity, human rights, interdependence, social justice, sustainable
development and values and perceptions. It explores the interconnections between
the local and the global. It builds knowledge and understanding, as well as developing
skills and attitudes. Download the DCSF's guidance document for more information.

Our leaflet outlines the support that we are able to offer to schools in the
North East to develop the global dimension in the curriculum.
